What counts as an Action
An Action is one message Engage+ sends on your behalf. It is the only thing we charge for.

Storing a contact costs nothing, on every plan. A venue with 200,000 WiFi logins pays for what it sends to them, not for holding them.
If you go over
We keep sending. The extra Actions are charged per 1,000 on your next bill, and Engage+ tells you at 80% of your allowance and again when you reach it.

Moving up a tier costs less than paying for the same Actions as overage, so if you are over every month, upgrade. The free plan is never billed for extra Actions: sending pauses at 500 until the next month or until you upgrade.
Questions about pricing
Do I pay for contacts?
No. Contacts are unlimited on every plan, including the free one. Most tools charge by list size, so the WiFi logins you collect raise your bill whether you email them or not. Engage+ charges for sending.
What happens if I go over my Actions?
On a paid plan we keep sending and charge the extra per 1,000 on your next bill, at the rates above. On the free plan sending pauses until the next month or until you upgrade, because there is no card on file to bill.
What counts as an Action today?
Email. It is the only channel Engage+ sends on today, so one email to one contact is one Action. SMS, surveys and offers draw on the same allowance as each one arrives.
Is the cost of an SMS included?
The Action is; the carrier charge is not. Engage+ sends SMS through your own provider account, so the message itself is billed by your provider and the Action by Purple.
What does annual billing save?
Between 8% and 10%, depending on the tier, paid once a year instead of monthly. The plan picker shows the exact saving for the tier you have selected.
Is VAT included?
Every price here is the amount you pay, and it is the figure that reaches the checkout: nothing is added at the end. In the UK that includes VAT at 20%. Elsewhere the rate differs and in some countries it does not apply at all, but the number you were shown is still the number you are charged. Extra Actions are charged the same way.
Do I need a card to start?
No. The free plan gives you 500 Actions a month and unlimited contacts without one. You add a card when you move to a paid plan.
