How Purple Engage works, with or without Purple WiFi

Purple Engage builds guest profiles from WiFi, POS and booking data, runs the campaigns that bring guests back, and measures what they brought in. Here is where the data comes from and what setup involves.

Do I need Purple WiFi to use Purple Engage?

No. Purple Engage is sold on its own and runs without Purple WiFi. You create your venues in Engage and bring guests in from your POS, your booking system or PMS, website forms, CSV imports and the API. If you do run Purple WiFi, every guest sign-in becomes a contact.

Which WiFi networks can Engage read guest sign-ins from?

Purple WiFi, plus Cisco Spaces, Cisco Meraki and Juniper Mist. Each guest sign-in becomes a contact with a visit history for the venue they joined at. HPE Aruba and RUCKUS are on the roadmap.

Where else does guest data come from?

Your POS systems, booking systems, hotel PMS, CRMs and website. Sales, bookings and stays land on the same guest record as their WiFi visits, so one profile shows what each guest did and spent. The integrations page lists every connector with its status.

What does setting up Purple Engage involve?

Five steps. Create or connect your venues, connect the systems that hold guest data, and import any contacts you already have. Then add your own sending domain for email, and your Twilio account if you want SMS or WhatsApp. After that you build segments and journeys.

  2. Connect your POS, bookings or PMS from the integrations directory
  3. Import contacts from CSV, recording which channels each guest's consent covers
  4. Add your own sending domain for email, and your Twilio account for SMS and WhatsApp
  5. Build segments and journeys yourself, or ask the AI agent to draft them in the real builders

How does Engage show a campaign worked?

Engage holds back a group of guests who match a campaign but do not receive it, then compares the two. You see the extra visits, bookings and POS revenue the campaign brought in, with a confidence range. Every campaign the AI agent proposes is a controlled experiment.

Who decides what gets sent to guests?

You do. Nothing reaches a guest without a person saying yes. The AI agent builds campaigns in the real builders and proposes opportunities, but every outbound send waits for approval. Outside agents that use Engage through the MCP server, such as Claude or ChatGPT, can draft but never send.

Questions

Is Purple Engage available now?

Purple Engage is in Beta. Features marked Beta are built and being tested ahead of general release. Features marked Coming soon are in development, and features on the roadmap are planned. Each feature page labels every feature with one of those three statuses.

Can I use Engage alongside my current email tool?

Yes. Contacts and consent sync both ways with Mailchimp and HubSpot, and Engage segments can be sent to Mailchimp as audiences. Both connectors are in Beta.

What does Purple Engage cost?

Plans are priced on Actions, where one message sent is one Action, including each SMS or WhatsApp message. Contacts are unlimited on every plan, and the free plan includes 500 Actions a month with no card needed. Purple adds no markup to SMS or WhatsApp: Twilio bills those messages on your own account.

Can I get my data out of Engage?

Yes. You can export your guests, and the warehouse export sends contacts, activity, transactions, bookings and stays to your own BigQuery, Snowflake or Amazon S3 on a schedule. Both are in Beta.
