Engage Reviews

Reviews from guests who actually visited

Ask customers for reviews after real visits, draft replies from your venue's own facts and see which unhappy guests return. Manage your reputation alongside your campaigns, customer data and results.

Who does Engage Reviews ask for a review?

Every guest after a real visit. Send the same request after a booking, stay, purchase or WiFi visit, by email, SMS or WhatsApp. The survey review button is shown to every respondent, not only positive reviewers.

  • Survey "leave a review" button shown to every respondent
  • The same ask to every guest after a WiFi visit, booking, stay or POS receipt
  • Asked at most once per venue every 12 months, with a 14-day gap across venues and 72 hours after a survey
  • A reason recorded for every pause

What is review gating, and which rules is Engage Reviews built to follow?

Review gating means asking only the guests you expect to be happy, or screening guests first and sending only the happy ones to a review site. Google's review policy bans incentives and selective asking, and in the UK the DMCC Act 2024, with the CMA's guidance, bans cherry-picking reviews. Engage Reviews is built to follow these rules.

  • Google's review policy bans incentives and selective asking
  • UK: the DMCC Act 2024 and the CMA's guidance (CMA208) ban cherry-picking reviews. The CMA opened review cases on 27 March 2026
  • US: the FTC Consumer Review Rule took effect in October 2024. Engage Reviews is built to follow it too

How do AI reply drafts stay accurate?

Drafts use facts you have confirmed about your venue. Reviewer names are masked, sensitive complaints need personal attention, and replies never promise compensation. Review drafts yourself, or opt into auto-publishing for eligible positive reviews once your approval history meets the criteria.

  • A venue fact library: hours, contact, location, offering and policies
  • Reviews that mention hygiene, illness, allergy, injury, discrimination, a legal threat or staff safety are never auto-drafted as routine
  • Reviewer names masked before the AI sees them
  • Replies never promise compensation
  • Personal approval for complaints; optional auto-publishing for eligible positive replies

Which review sites does Engage Reviews cover?

Manage a Google review inbox per venue and across venues, plus review sync for Facebook, Trustpilot, Booking.com and Expedia. Send the correct review links for those sites and TripAdvisor. Engage does not request Yelp reviews.

  • Google review inbox, per venue and across venues
  • "Write a review" links for Google, TripAdvisor, Facebook, Trustpilot, Booking.com and Expedia
  • Review sync for Facebook, Trustpilot, Booking.com and Expedia

Can I see whether an unhappy reviewer came back?

Yes. Guests won back shows whether a guest who left an unhappy review visited again, using connected WiFi visit data. Track ratings, review volume, reply times and your request funnel alongside it.

  • Guests won back, measured by WiFi visits
  • Google new-review and reply-time alerts
  • Reporting on rating, volume, reply time and the request funnel

What can I learn across my venues?

Compare review and survey topics, follow escalation rules and weekly digests, and check competitor rating benchmarks. Add a verified-visit reviews widget to your website.

  • A topic engine across reviews and surveys, escalation rules and weekly digests
  • Competitor rating benchmarks
  • A verified-visit reviews widget

Questions

Does Engage Reviews sync my TripAdvisor reviews?

No. Engage Reviews gives guests the correct TripAdvisor "write a review" link, and that is all. Syncing reviews needs a TripAdvisor content contract, and TripAdvisor's Content API closed on 31 August 2026.

Does Engage ask guests for Yelp reviews?

No. Yelp's policy forbids asking for reviews, so Engage never sends review requests to Yelp.

Will replies ever post without a person approving them?

Yes, if you opt in after building trust. Auto-publishing covers replies to 4 and 5 star reviews with no complaint after at least 60 days of drafts, 50 approvals and more than 80% sent unedited. It switches off if the unedited rate falls below 70%. Complaints still need personal approval.

Does Engage Reviews make my venue compliant?

It is built to follow Google's review policy, the UK DMCC Act 2024 with the CMA's guidance, and the US FTC Consumer Review Rule. How you ask for reviews, and what you offer guests, is still up to you.

Can Purple help me set up reviews?
