What can a restaurant do with Purple Engage?

Five ways to bring guests back. Win back regulars who have stopped coming, fill quiet weekdays with offers that only work in set hours, ask every diner for a score after a visit, start a journey when a ResDiary booking completes, and send birthday offers.

  • Win back lapsed regulars: guests not seen in 30 days start a journey with an offer
  • Fill quiet Tuesdays: offers that only redeem in a window such as Tuesday to Thursday, 3 to 6pm, redeemed at the POS
  • Post-visit NPS: the post-visit survey template, with answers saved to each guest's profile
  • Journeys that start when a ResDiary booking completes
  • Birthday and anniversary journeys

How does Engage know who dined with you?

From the systems each diner touches. WiFi sign-ins become contacts with a visit history for each venue, POS sales add spend, and ResDiary adds bookings. We know who walked in, even if they never booked or bought, and engagement stars show who is a regular and who is fading.

  • WiFi sign-ins from Purple WiFi, Cisco Spaces, Cisco Meraki and Juniper Mist
  • POS spend from Square, Lightspeed X-Series, Epos Now, Loyverse and Oracle Simphony
  • Bookings from ResDiary, with unsubscribes sent back
  • Engagement stars, from Champion to Dormant

How do I bring diners back?

With journeys that start from what a guest did. A journey can wait until a guest visits, books or redeems, and stop once they do. Offers carry a single-use code that staff redeem on the guest's phone, in the staff web app or at a supported POS.

  • Journeys started by visits, purchases, bookings and birthdays, with exit goals
  • Single-use offer codes with redemption windows, caps and a budget
  • Email, SMS and WhatsApp, with SMS and WhatsApp sent through your own Twilio account

How do I know a campaign worked?

Engage holds back a group of guests and measures the extra visits, bookings and POS revenue the campaign brought in against them, with a confidence range. The offer report shows codes issued, viewed and redeemed, cost against budget and the revenue captured.

  • Extra visits, bookings and POS revenue measured against a held-back group
  • Offer report: issued, viewed, redeemed, cost against budget and captured revenue

How does Engage protect your reputation and your guests' trust?

Sign-up forms are always double opt-in with versioned consent wording, and guests pick topics, pause or leave in a branded preference center. Engage Reviews, adds the right review links for each venue and AI reply drafts that a person approves before anything is posted.

  • Double opt-in forms with versioned consent wording
  • Branded preference center: topics, a 30-day pause, or leave
  • Engage Reviews: review links for each venue, and reply drafts a person approves

Questions

Do I need guest WiFi to use Engage in a restaurant?

No. You can create your venues in Engage and bring diners in from your POS, ResDiary, website forms or a CSV import. Guest WiFi adds the diners who never booked.

Which POS systems can redeem Engage offers?

Lightspeed X-Series receives codes pushed into the POS. Toast and Lightspeed K-Series check codes live at the POS, and Toast needs Toast partner acceptance. Square, Epos Now, Loyverse and Oracle Simphony read redemptions back from synced sales. Without a POS integration, staff redeem on the guest's phone or with the staff web app.

What does the ResDiary connector do?

Bookings and guests, with their opt-ins, flow into Engage, and unsubscribes flow back to ResDiary. A completed booking can start a journey.

Is Engage Reviews available?

Yes. Engage Reviews sends requests after a recorded visit, booking, stay or purchase. Review requests go to every eligible guest, regardless of their survey score.
