When is Purple Engage the better choice?

When one of these describes your venues.

  • You want each campaign measured against a held-back group (5% of every new campaign and journey by default): the extra share of guests who came back, booked or bought, with a 95% range and gross sales for each group.
  • You run a till other than Toast or Revel. Engage reads sales from Square, Lightspeed X-Series, Epos Now, Loyverse and Oracle Simphony, and checks offer codes at Toast and Lightspeed K-Series.
  • You run hotels. Stays from Mews and apaleo land on the guest record, and a hotel checkout can start a journey.
  • You want WhatsApp campaigns as well as email and SMS, sent through your own Twilio account.
  • You want published prices on credits rather than per location: pay for what you send, with unlimited* contacts and a free plan.

How do you switch from Bloom Intelligence to Purple Engage?

Switching from Bloom Intelligence: what changes, step by step.

Moving from Bloom Intelligence

  • There is no ready-made Bloom Intelligence connector. Bring guests in by CSV import, CSV over SFTP, the public API or Zapier where Bloom can export them.
  • On Toast, Engage checks offer codes live at the till. Toast sales are not one of the till feeds Engage reads onto the guest record.
  1. Create your venues in Engage, or connect Purple WiFi, Cisco Spaces, Cisco Meraki or Juniper Mist.
  2. Import your contacts by CSV. Engage records which channels each contact's consent covers and who attested to it.
  3. Connect your till, booking system or PMS, so spend, bookings and stays land on the guest record. Visits come from a connected WiFi system.
  4. Set up your own sending domain for email, and your own Twilio account for SMS and WhatsApp.
  5. Rebuild your automations as journeys by hand. Campaigns your AI team stages hold back 5% of guests, so your first one can be measured against a held-back group.

Questions

Is Purple Engage an alternative to Bloom Intelligence?

For guest data, email, SMS, WhatsApp, journeys, offers and measurement, yes. Bloom also replies to reviews with AI, runs Google and Meta ads and builds restaurant websites. Engage does not reply to reviews or build websites, and its paid ad audiences are a pilot. 1

How do Bloom Intelligence and Purple Engage measure a campaign?

Bloom's site says it counts return visits at the POS and matches them to the campaign. Engage, compares guests sent a campaign with guests held back on purpose, and shows the extra share who came back, booked or bought, with a 95% range. The held-back group is what separates the guests a campaign brought back from the ones who would have come anyway. 12

Does Purple Engage need Purple WiFi?

No. Engage works with Purple WiFi, Cisco Spaces, Cisco Meraki and Juniper Mist, and venues can also be created in Engage without any of them.
